UCB Comedy is Pizza Obsessed

By accident, the UCB Comedy creators on both coasts have gotten obsessed with pizza, pasta and sauce related subjects:

Four recent UCB Comedy videos posted to the YouTube channel:

1. Domino's New Crust-Stuffed Crust Pizza
2. Pepperonis
3. BBQ Sauce
4. Penny Pizza

AND the NYC folks (me) also posted an older video Sue Is Late For Lunch which although is not directly pizza-related, is food-focused. Weirder still, the NYC folks have one more sauce-focused video about to come out.

We can deduce here that the writers have been locked in a room in order to create, but this has merely made them hungry. Becky, Matt and myself should get these guys some food.

And the Winner is... Me!

Well, according to the accurate and popular poll, it looks like yours truly beat out Bob McBobbob in the quest to find out who has the funniest video out of everyone in the entire world. Land of the Lost came in a very close, yet oh so far, second.

Well, I'd like to thank Matty for helping me to restore my confidence when it comes to the YouTube world. He also offered to have a pizza party in my honor, but I figured this is better.

Entourage Recap!

Those of you who are hep to the pulse of the youth know that the Entourage season six premiere was last night. But maybe some of you were at the hospital, or maybe you got whisked away by Centauri to battle alongside the Rylan Star League against the insidious Ko-Dan Empire. Either way, you missed it. Bummer, bro! But fear not. I did have enough free time in my weekend to devote half an hour to Vinny Chase and Co., so just for you, here's a recap (along with recaps of the previous seasons, lest ye forgot):

Season One
The boys hang in LA. They find their longstanding friendships strained when abundant success in the cruel Hollywood world threatens to tear them apart. Jeremy Piven puts in a breakout performance as Agent Ari Gold.

Season Two
The boys chillax in LA. They find their longstanding friendships strained when rampant success in the heartless Hollywood world threatens to tear them apart. Jeremy Piven's Ari Gold continues to be one of the most entertaining characters in television.

Season Three
The boys have fun in LA. They find their longstanding friendships strained when insanely accessible success in the cold Hollywood world threatens to tear them apart. Jeremy Piven proves Ari Gold can be a lasting character.

Season Four
The boys do stuff in LA. They find their longstanding friendships strained when confusingly easy-to-achieve success in the merciless Hollywood world threatens to tear them apart. Jeremy Piven continues to do acting as Ari Gold.

Season Five
The boys romp around LA. They find their longstanding friendships strained when now-its-just-ridiculous-that-would-never-happen success in the savage Hollywood world threatens to tear them apart. Jeremy Piven...still Ari Gold.

...and finally, the Season Six Premiere
The boys cause a ruckus in LA. They find their longstanding friendships strained when unavoidable success in the near-apocalyptic Hollywood world threatens to tear them apart. Ari Gold still does a great job of playing Agent Jeremy Piven.

So there you go! Hope you can make it next week, because I'm running out of synonyms! Hug it out!

Becky Vs. Bob McBobbob

All right, folks. First ever UCB Comedy Blog Cagematch. In one corner, we got your Becky Feldmans and we got your Cissy Fenwicks, with "BBQ Sauce," a short and sweet sketch that I freakin' love that they put together. In the other, we got YouTube user rockshya23, best known for saying "ucb just keeps pumping out shit that i dont think anyone seems to enjoy,"* and his latest video, "Bob McBobbob." Who ya got? Vote at the right!

BBQ Sauce

Bob McBobbob

We're childish tools. But come on, Becky and I needed something to do in the office today. Plus, I totally feel for rockshya23, because when I was ten I thought the name "Bob" was hilarious, too.

Summer's the best! Here're some videos not really related to summer!

Hey everyone! I'm happy. Why am I happy? Because it's nice and beautiful and sunny outside, and that gives me an excuse to eat lots of frozen yogurt. And what better activity is there than than kicking back with a cup of Menchies and watching some videos? Here are a couple recent UCB Comedy Originals, the first being one I originally wrote with my Maude team Up, Up, Up! and filled with a bunch of performers from the LA theatre who I know from personal experience are awesome talented people, the second from the New York theatre with a bunch of performers I've never met personally but am sure are awesome talented people. Enjoy!

Nate Dern, From UCB Comedy's American Apparel, Everyday Sexy video, in HeebMagazine.com

After getting through of the trauma of a Jewish sleep-away camp (seriously, some of the kids who go there are far to young to overhearing their counselors fingering each other while pretending to be sleeping), most young, former Jewish practitioners read Heeb Magazine.

I was stoked to see that Nate Dern, who played Dov Charney in UCBNY's American Apparel: Everyday Sexy, was featured on heebmagazine.com.

Shalom!

One-Word Summer Movie Reviews

I don't mean to gloat, but I'm sort of the UCB Comedy blog in-house movie reviewer. More by default than anything else, having written reviews of some of the bigger films of the past year. And since the summer movie season is now officially in full swing thanks to the release of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dead, I thought I'd give a quick rundown of the films to come out so far this summer. I'll try to be quick and just edit the lengthy, 500-word reviews I originally wrote down to one, the first word of each review (because any good reviewer knows their readers usually only read the first word anyway).

Up - Great...

The Hangover - Funny...

Terminator: Salvation - Robots...

Land of the Lost - Will...

Public Enemies - It's...

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - Night...

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Robots...

The Proposal - Tittynope...

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 - 1...

My Sister's Keeper - Robots...

So now you know what to go see. Have fun!

July 4th Fun!

Hey everybody! Man, it's been so long since I last blogged. I'm sorry, I've been doing Adventures to Adventure Mountain and whatnot (yes, shameful self-plug). Not to mention, America's 6th favorite holiday (after March 7, "National Crown Roast of Pork Day"-- go ahead, look it up), July 4th, is today. So I owe you something special. I figure, what's the thing we do most on this comedy-related blog? We try to do funny stuff. So, I'm thinkin' why not really mix it up and do something not funny:

Five Unfunny Ways to Spend July 4th (the unfunniest I can think of right now):

5. Have a barbecue
4. Watch fireworks
3. Eat a hot dog you microwaved
2. Forget it's 4th of July
1. Watch a movie

Do those things! Happy 4th of July! Bye!
